Freezes with 1.7 on Windows 7 x64

Post » Mon Dec 28, 2009 7:40 am

I'm currently experiencing frequent freezes with Fallout 3 on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise running Fallout 1.7 through Steam. The symptoms are almost exactly the same as the "quad core" freeze, where the sound keeps going and the video freezes. I am able to ctrl+alt+delete out and kill the process as well.

However, the quad core fix does nothing.

I also tried installing klite codec pack, as per some other random forum suggestion. It didn't same to have an effect, positive or negative.

Here's the http://pastebin.com/Ntm6B45K.

I am experiencing the same issues as you are. I hope someone can shed some light on this post, because for now, the game is nearly non-playable due to this freezing, "not responding" issue. Since no errors of any kind are being generated when this happens, I am left to suspect the 3D engine and rendering is what is failing.

Having the same problem here... I can get a maximum of 10 minutes on occasion, but I have never even made it out of the vault.
The game just randomly stops responding with no error report or anything.
