French version in Belgium ?

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:27 am

Hi there,
In Belgium, we speak 3 languages : Dutch, French and German.
In the french half Belgium, we've got the french Skyrim game. Nice. But we've seen the english version on our market some days ago, and today, we don't see the french one.
Yes, I've heard the french version has some issues, but, will we have the french version some day ? Does the french's bugs matter in our problem ?
We're a lot of people talkin' about a possible french release of this DLC, because many of the belgian frenchspeakers don't speak English, so, don't wait for a lot of purchase on the english version.

'waiting for a french version,
Yours,
Terethor.

Hello Terethor !

As another French-speaking Belgian :tes: player, I share your concerns. I play it on PC, though, and think there will be less issues with Steam, as I think Steam allows for a free choice of language anywhere in the world. I think Bethesda's behaviour has been unelegant in Europe. I don't mind being asked to wait more than others for a game, but when it comes, I expect it to be less bugged than it is. And now I hear that French-speaking Xbox-playing gamers are badly neglected. I really hope that it will be fixed soon. For now I suppose they have much work with emergency fixing their European versions but when they'll have fixed it, I really hope they'll answer to your concerns. In case they don't, I must confess that I won't be able to consider their behaviour anything but deeply disrespectful.

Also, I see that you are new on these forums. It is some kind of a tradition, here, to to give the newcomers a fishy stick as a welcome gift. So, here you have, have a http://images.uesp.net/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg !

Cheers,

Verbose.

Definitely a lot of problems with the different languages in Europe. (Myself included).

In my opinion, they need to do one of the following: Either make a single download that includes all the languages (English + FIGS) or make available all the different versions for download from any EU location. You pay for the content and then you can download the language of your choosing. Would it really be so hard? It would certainly save a lot of problems.

Moreover, making all languages available from any version would have many advantages. For example, if the player thinks the original voicing is better than the dubbing, he can shift from the localized version to the original one with localized subtitles. In case a friend comes home who doesnt like subtitles, and in case the player would want to show him how Skyrim/Dawnguard looks like, he could shift again to the localized version. If you have to travel, let's say, to Brazil and want to get used to the sounds of their beautiful language as a preparation, you could also shift to the Portuguese version, with subtitles... And so on...

Dang, I wish I could understand your beautiful language.

Thanks, he said we could buy the french version with a french-nationality account, but I don't want to buy more MSPoints just for a second account :P

Thanks for the fishy stick, I'll put next to my Alduin statue

Maybe a server storage story, but I don't understand Microsoft, we pay as much as the players from France, sometime more, and we don't have the Indies Games, some games like 1 VS 100 (a game with real gains) and now, the french version of some DLC. When I bought Knight of the Nine for Oblivion, I had the English version, but Shivering Isles were in French. Don't ask questions.

Thanks you all for your answers, hoping a french version of the DLC, and without bugs, please

I'm belgian and I've the same problem.

Still no official response to this question? I've bought my Skyrim game in Belgium, in french version (text and speech), and I can only choose the dlc in english version. I've call the microsoft hotline and they told me they're surprised but no one could tell me if it will be possible for me to buy my dlc in my game language...

And, no, I would not create a french account, and bought another microsoft points for this.

It's a mistake? Bug or volunteer?

Greetings,
