seriously can't figure out what happened we aren't a small town and have a large air base here... we are bout 100 miles north of Bakersfield which becomes the necropolis... i have all the fallouts cept the one for the on the console and the fallout bible and unless i missed something what happened to fresno and clovis... or yosemitie or the rest of that stuff

The only (known) Cali vaults were 13, 15, 8 and 12 (and the Demo vault in LA).

Given that there were 122 vaults to split between 50 states and Canada (yes, I know that FO moved on the commonwealths, but thats beside my point), I don't think its likely there were any more

so the one in Bakersfield would be the closest granted the sierra base would be pretty close as well

If you have a large airbase nearby then it is on the priority target list of the very first wave of nukes.
Airbases aswell as command centers and nuke silos are the first things that need to be hit when the order to push the buttons comes. The strikes would almost certainly come from submarines.

Its as easy as that. ;)
