Friendship bracelet help/yarn bracelet help.

Post » Sat Dec 03, 2011 4:43 pm

So my girlfriend just gave me a friendship/yarn/string bracelet today. And I was wondering how I can keep the knot from loosening. I was thinking of taking a lighter to the knot to "weld" it together. Would that work? Or is there something better?

Thanks :)

Burning the end of the string/yarn always worked. I've had a few of those before.

A very volatile situation, I must say.

Not only is the fact that it's loosening to begin with a less-than-great omen, but then she's your girlfriend and she gave you a "friendship" bracelet, which isn't so bad but still.. And if you end up using a lighter as you planned and something goes wrong, it's going to be a really awkward situation..

"Hey, how come you're not wearing that bracelet I gave you?"

"Yeah, I kinda set it on fire, so..." :whistling:

"Yeah, it caught fire from the burning passion of our love" ;)

Edit @ Top killa: right, because seventeen year olds give each other gold and platinum all the time. Twobblez's girlfriend is clearly a cheapo.

I prefer getting gold or platinum (or anything that's valuable) If someone gave me a yarn or sting I would throw it in the trash but that's just me. As long as your happy with what you got OP that's what matters and good luck.

EDIT: maybe you can try super gluing it instead?

If its synthetic, melting the ends together should do the job. If its organic (cotton, hemp[for hippie friends], etc.), applying a flame would just make things worse :P.

P.S. Real friends make bracelets themselves by plaiting stuff together cleverly to make nice patterns. Preferably a flat twelve plait or something, just to show willingness to put a lot of effort in.
