From Arena to Skyrim and back again

Post » Wed Jul 25, 2012 5:25 pm

As i play Arena,Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion i remember how from Arena to Skyrim the landscape has change greatly and with every new launch in the series i want more in the next one or in the DLC and as we are 4 months away to the day when Skyrim launched.....I was wondering which game is STILL the best Elder Scroll game to date and comment below how you are still a fan of the series and how you are enjoying the games OR just comment how the game series has fallen from it's standards as of late with all the bugs, glitches, and delays

There isn't a perfect or better elder scrolls game. They all succeeded. Bethesda Delivered some very large games, so yea, something will go wrong once or twice, or maybe more. If one was perfect, say Skyrim delivered the perfect Elder Scrolls experience, then no one would play the other ones. IMO, the perfect elder scrolls feel, is the fact that you play in one of the most immersive series ever created. That's just my opinion, but Bethesda has truly created an amazing series, and, even though I have not played arena, daggerfall, morrowind, oblivion, and only skyrim, I feel that Bethesda does the series best, and hope they always will.
They did start it from the beggining :D

All previous lands before TES5 need to be ported/created again. I'd love going to their continents -- they're both very lush environments. Can't really decide on a game, but I'd say Oblivion's environment takes the cake, while Skyrim's overall gameplay was fun, Morrowind's story/secrets were captivating (dungeons that required levitation? awesomeness), and Daggerfall had the biggest world out of them all along with climbing skill. Arena, I can't say much, but meh, the more the merrier.

Skyrim was the biggest challenge to date as you can see while before all these patches came and fix areas of Skyrim.....the game was just a complete mess i heard that some people couldn't even start up the game when they first bought it

Daggerfall had way more bugs and glitches than Skyrim. They just were way more random, and the game came out in the 90's, so people who nostalgia goggle it forget it had worse problems. Same goes for Morrowind, only it had less random bugs compared to Daggerfall. At least you don't have to save every five minutes on the PC version of Skyrim. Morrowind's PC version would crash way more often and to this day still does no matter how patched it is. The game's engine had a bug that made it impossible to play Morrowind without saving every five minutes.

I'd say Skyrim is way more stable. It just is more recent and the PS3 version has so many problems it shouldn't have had at all.

the only two issues i had with Oblivion were
1. The vampire cure quest
2. the voice acting...guess what it's so repetitive and boring! :wallbash:

If it has "The Elder Scrolls" in the title, then it's the best game ever. Looks like they all win.

Their MMO will be the best ever due to the sheer size of it and the living world.

I found the heads for the non-beast or races to be more problematic. I mean, you have to look up what race any non-redguard human is oftentimes. The elves(this includes orcs), redguards, and beast races are the only races that don't look so much alike. The voice acting was more hit or miss to me.

I won't be surprised if Skyrim or Morrowind are close. Both the best games in my opinion
