Loaded up steam this morning and saw a little promo for some game creation software. To me, this seems rather common place. Though the programs say they are user friendly, that can be quite the opposite for people that aren't too savy with computers, some being highly involved that require programming language basics (condition statements, return functions, targets, executions). The program that popped up seemed to be a garden variety game creator with a language editor, 2D world builder, and the other bells and whistles you would expect in a program like that. Also, just like that kind of program, it comes with a free version, individual version ($100+restrictions), and a professional/business version ($300 with all restrictions removed).
So, i'm wondering what everyone else thinks about these game creation software packages popping up. Does it allow for more unique creations and competition in the market? Or does it just flood the market with possibly unwanted games?
