I actually started frequenting these forums shortly before Skyrim was announced and had kept tabs on it up to release, and have since been playing it like crazy. As you can probably tell from the title, I became a TES fan with Oblivion and after some slight frustrations, came really enjoy it (especially the music) but I haven't played it in a while. In frequenting this forum, I've noticed a lot of interesting discussions regarding the Civil War but I'll get involved into those later. Right now all I'll say is that I'm a big Stormcloak supporter and dislike the Empire.
In general, both Oblivion and now Skyrim have helped me imagine new things and as 2 people had said in a recent thread, I also have Aspergers Syndrome so I tend to spend a lot of time playing games. Something that I also loved in Oblivion that is unfortunately absent (or atleast hard to do for me) in Skyrim is hanging out with NPCs and just listening to them talk. I have installed several mods though, one of which is a house mod but also lets me traverse Skyrim a lot quicker and has everything I need from other parts of the province. If any of you guys know of a good place to just sit down and hang out with NPCs, let me know as I likely would have found it by now.
One of the best things about these games for me is giving me more ideas for things I could write about as I'm aspiring to be an author one day. I always feel cozy inside when I read a book and I feel the same thing in these games, even if I can't do it as much in Skyrim but I do read a lot of in-game books as well.
I'm also looking forward to the Dawnguard DLC as it will be my first official DLC (I don't count the High Texture one), as I never bothered to buy the Oblivion DLCs but I'll definatley enjoy this one.
Not too much else for me to say, but being that I frequent the forum and play the games so much, I figured why not finally join the community
