From what we've seen so far, my biggest worry is...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 7:49 pm

We've seen a good few screens - and some of them look to be as though they were taken mid-gameplay. What worries me is that I haven't seen a single first person shot. Am I reading too much into it? It's early days. I know...

There is no first person viewpoint. It's been leaked already.

I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed the game will be in third person.

It's been confirmed to be third person. You might be able to just mouse-scroll all the way in, for a "first person" view.

If what has leaked from the Game Informer article is right, there will be no first person view. Speaking of biggest worry, there is currently no indication that the horribly boring typical gameplay of current MMOs will not be used in the Elder Scrolls Online, which is, well, very sad.

I'm not sure you'd WANT to scroll all the way for a closer look as it is the Hero Engine we're speaking of.

No first person, indeed.

Bare in mind this is linked to the single-player games only by franchise/universe/lore/whatever.

With that said, try to keep an open mind towards the game until we get more information, gameplay, etc.

:hugs: I'm giving you a preemptive hug before you go searching for that Game Informer article. Pretty sure you'll be needing it soon.

Sorry, just found an article explaining that there will be 3rd person only, hotbar - activated skills and no true real time combat. I was just starting to get optimistic too...

A bet a million dollars it's 3rd person only. A year ago I would of hated that but now not so much. I've learned to play skyrim in 3rd person because of games like mass effect and dcuo. Also when I'm playing an mmo I like 3rd person just to see my gear and what I've collected. Nothing is more satisfying then watching yourself kill things with gear that looks bad ass and that took you a month to get.

Even though I prefer 3rd person with an mmo I'd like to see an option for 1sf person mode, just so everyone can be happy. That is one of many things that the elder scrolls series is known for, having both modes is a must.

From what I've seen, it would seem like blashphemy for this game to bear the Elder Scrolls title.

My biggest worry is that it plays like an MMO. :(

Man, In production for such a ong period of time...Yet they have yet to show me a single orignal aspect to the game... They are even writing over current lore. :(

In the MMO genre you have to stick to what works.

"new and edgy" MMOs tend to go free to play then tank after a while. MMOs are money grabs unless you are a fan, which it probably doesn't seem like it.

Like my uncle hes a "fan" of alcohol he doesn't see anything bad about it either. ;)

This too. It would have been relatively easy to just use the tried and true TES combat system, but simply with other players in the game world.
