Frustrated with Skyrim Problems? Article...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 1:19 am

It's hardly fair to compare games like Metal Gear Solid or Ocarina of Time to Skyrim, considering that the first two were made for one specific console and were rather small, whereas Skyrim was made for the PC, XBOX360, and PS3, and is about a hundred times bigger than both games with far more detailed AI going on all the time. The article neglects to mention how the PC and XBOX360 versions are fully playable.

Gee, it's good to know that the PC version is now "fully playable" NOT! (unless maybe you use a controller)
And the XBOX version also, if you don't want good textures that is

You tell me, buddy.

The whole article just reaks of "guy who got angry and looked for excuses to make an article without any solid point."

Has the internet ruined gaming? No, it hasn't. Are patches a bad thing? No, they aren't. Accept that the industry is changing and that not all change is bad.

That last statement is simply the dumbest statement I think I have ever seen in this forum! (and that is saying a LOT!!!)

The article was excellent and well thought out, unlike your response

I don't know what problems you've encountered on the PC, but after 200+ hours into Skyrim, I would definitely consider it to be fully playable, and I don't use a controller.

I've noticed that it's mostly PS3 users that are complaining.
I'm starting to blame Sony for making a bad console.

Just keep in mind that your anecdotes about not having problems aren't helpful for the people who are having issues. If users are experiencing issues, then the PC version (as a whole) is not "fully playable". It is "fully playable" only for those who are not having those issues.

That's pretty silly, considering how many multiplatform games don't have these problems.

Yes, you have a point. I too blame the PS3, an inaminate object developed 5 odd years ago, for not magically upgrading and improving itself sufficiently enough to be able to play Skyrim. I definately do not blame Bethesda, the people who had a list of the ps3 specs, and choose to develop Skyrim in a way that would not suit those clear specifications. Nope, definatley Sony's fault.

.....wait a minuite.

As gamers, are we really OK with buying a game and knowing that it’s not going to work?
i think millions of copies sold answer that question.
Allow me to pose this question: if the very first boss of Shadow of the Colossus had sank into the ground and disappeared for 70% of players, would the game not have been crucified? Would it have even come close to being the legendary artistic hallmark in gaming that it is today?
if it is that artistic, then i'd think yes it would. even with all the bugs. me, if it means having a game that artistic, then i think i'd have just avoided that particular point and kept doing other things in the game until the mess is fixed. but i am guessing this is my attitude only because i never played those games. i mean, i'd be, of course, not be happy if it happened in games i did play :ahhh: . like, if Revan was not allowed to Force Storm things to death :foodndrink: (like if force storm was bugged). or if Nerevarine just could not get further in the main quest because he kept falling through the Red Mountain.

you do have a point though. and good article.

Problems with Skyrim? In a game of the size and complexity of Skyrim, a few bugs are to be expected. However, aside from a few minor hiccups, I've had no troubles with it at all, and I've played it far more than is probably healthy. So, really, I'm not sure what you are on about.

They should just release the completely finished product out when it is done. I feel like a punk when I buy a game for $60 and then the goty edition of it comes out and its only $20 with all the dlc.

the GOTY costs the same as the original release when it comes out.

and tes games have always been this buggy ameadiatly after release, oblivion had several game killing bugs which would corrupt your game to an unplayable state, morrowind, daggerfall, arena. if you think skyrim is too buggy, try playing one of the spin offs pre morrowind.
