Fun Ways To Fight Sabre Cats #4

Upon finding many of them in a pack, piss them off by firing your bow at them and then sprint - with them chasing - to the nearest Stormcloak camp.
Sit up on rock where you think that you will be safe* and watch the ensuing hilarity.

*She wasn't safe. It got very messy.

Lure them to the conveniently located giant camp. Be surprised as a dragon attacks. Run for dear life!

I used to 'train' groups of daedra into the open cities of Morrowind. Great fun that was.

So true! It's especially important for a character wearing robes rather than armor ...

Ha! Saber cats are way, way faster than a sprinting PC. Unless you find them right next to a camp, this won't work. However, you could cast animal allegiance on them and then run to the nearest IMPERIAL camp, and wait for the effect to run out :P.

Ultimate way to kill a saber cat: cast animal allegiance, run to the nearest deep body of water, fus ro dah them into the drink. Watch the poor kitty drown. Can NPCs drown though? :P *goes test*

Or indeed nothing at all. :D
It is awesome knowing there are 4 angry sabre cats behind "you" and all can hear is Niamh's panting as she goes pelting over the rocks trying to find cover, someone else as a target, a river and knowing that at any moment she's in all likelihood going to get mashed.

 usually followed by a whole lot of FUC#, FUC#,FUC# as you run. The wife says she's putting a swear jar next to the xbox, I tend to curse like a sailor while in hair situations. :ahhh:

Have you tried timing you strikes on the Saber's? If you get it right and just clip their muzzle, they end up doing some fantastic gymnastics right over your head. There was one that made a run for me and I just barely caught it by the nose, the dam thing must have done a 1080 over my head and it was at least 15 feet up in the air. :ooo: my jaw hit the floor, then I hit the floor LMFAO

As I was lacing up my sneakers Lydia said you can't outrun them with sneakers, I told her I dont have to outrun them, I just have to outrun you.

I really wish the wolves, sabercats and bears would start avoiding me - I don't like killing them at all. They're no challenge at this point, and I actually feel bad.

I have used animal Allegience shout quite a few times to get them to attack mammoths. Never gets old. Haha it is also definitely awesome when a giant gets a hold of one.

Have a flame atronach burn the cat to death by touching it with its flaming toes.... while the cat is underwater!

How: Did it by accident, but it worked. Summon flame atronach. Have the saber cat chase you towards a body of water... stand at the edge of where you can still stand then move when he lunges so he misses and ends up deep enough to be swimming. Then have a flame atronach float over the water and stand on the saber cat's head... eventually the atronach's flame cloak will burn the cat to death. When I did it the cat stayed in the water as long as I stayed in the water. I guess you could also do this by casting flame cloak on yourself, or by using a flame atronach, animal allegiance, then having it follow you peacefully into the water.

Water and fire are funny in this game. My favorite ways to kill slaughterfish include fireballs, flame cloak while swimming, flame wall.... basically all the fire spells.

Heh, I usually just run to the road making sure my "kitty-friend" is a short distance behind me and try to get it to attack some innocent by stander on the road... Also, fun with giants.

Short Story: I was luring a sabre cat along a road (In between Whiterun and Windhelm [near a ton of wall-bushes]) and all of a sudden I see a farmer with a cow, I run past the farmer full speed, then I hear screams (mostly a mixture of cow and man). Once I turn around I see a big, large animal falling to the ground, it was the cow. All of a sudden the farmer thinks he'll live if he makes a run for it, the last thing I see is the sabre cat running into the bush-wall pursuing the man. About 3 seconds later, I hear a horrific cry, coming from the farmer (kinda sounded like Jurassic Park) and then it all went silent... exept for the growl after the farmer died. It was quite funny... I wish carnivorous animals would actually eat dead creature on the road or in the forest... that... would be cool.

Oh, and bush-walls are basically my term for large bushes growing along a path.

My personal favorite was doing a Radiant quest (or otherwise, a really poorly done standard quest) for the Companions:

Sabre cat decides to attack the person I'm charged with rescuing. I turn and use the only weapon I have: "IIZ". The blasted cat freezes solid, and proceeds to riccochet up and over the villager, landing in the bushes and rolling down hill.

If you haven't made a Sabre Cat fly over its target while encased in ice, you haven't lived ;)
