Future Destruction Mage

Post » Sun Jul 29, 2012 2:20 am

Maybe is just my opinion but...after level 50 a pure combat mage is f----d up...for "pure combat mage" i mean no use of conju, and illu. Just destruction (maine), alter, and restoration. 'Till level 49 i travel across skyrim by my self and i was unstoppable! But now i have to bring Mjoll with me 'couse 3 or more enemies attack me is harder then a ancient dragon combat...i try to spend some points in conju and guess what? Is bugged! Nothing appear! So, my suggest is (or request) : 1th option- add a final single target spell for any school around 120 damage or something like that. Maybe not a single shot, but a hold spell like flame or spurks. 2nd option- a new enchant just for rings and chains add a 25% damage to destruction spells when weared (50%more total). I know there is a potion for that and i can make a powerfull one by myself but shuld be better if is needed just in one or two very important combats, like a dragon or a boss fight. Not against every f---ing warrior dwemer sphere! And maybe turn fire/ice/electric storm powerfull like 200-250 damages aoe. Why a sword swing can deal 215/400 damages and a firebolt just 90??? Thanks for read! a bethesda stuff answer is very welcome! Comment! Tell me yours! Bye everybody!!!

Ah! My eyes!

Dude, proper paragraph structures next time.

On your post Conjuration isn't working for you because you have either taken the Atronach perk or have activated the Atronach standing stone.

Swords only do that much if you abuse enchanting. With just the respective smithing perk and one handed/two handed at 100 and no fortify one handed/two handed and fortify smithing the highest sword damage is somewhere around 90 and 100.

Enemies get harder as you level, with the toughest enemie not showing up until level 70. You think its hard now, you ain't seen nothing yet. In all seriousness do you not use the Dragonhide spell and have the 3 Mage armour perks activated? You should not be dying.

Someone can correct me but i'm sure Firestorm is an AoE spell, so its damage increases when more there are more enemies in range of the blast. Unless you play on Expert or Master no one should survive more then 2 of them.

Skyrim gets easier as you level up. After you reach level 40 or so, you keep getting stronger faster than your enemies. You have more skills, you have more magicka, and you have more health. People using reasonable build and reasonable tactics find late game to be very easy. Use the skills that you have. What is your build like at this stage?

You say you are having difficulties against warriors. Bandits stop leveling before level 30. What kind of warriors are you talking about? All warriors are susceptible to paralysis. There are very few enemies that keep leveling with you after Level 50. You have the alteration tree. You have Paralysis. It's incredibly powerful spell. You can paralyze almost all warrior types. Take advantage of it.

You say you are having difficulties against dragons. My level 70 mage have no problem against ancient dragons without using any potions. They have 3000 health. Each shot of your Icy Spikes or Incinerate is doing 120 damage because all dragons have weakness to element opposite their own. You just need to pelt them with your destruction spell 25 times. The battle should last about a minute because they fly around between fights.

Bandits stop leveling at around level 25. Draugrs stop leveling at around level 30. Mages stop leveling at around level 50. Ancient Dragon is the top tier dragon for the vanilla game and they are Level 50. There are a few enemies that level with you after that, like Alduin, and boss Draugrs become Dragon Priests, but they are pretty easy to deal with at this point.

What is this tough Level 70 enemy that you are talking about?

As u surely understand already, i like to play the "pure" classes. I don't like a character can make everything like sneak around, smith, and a few second after cast a fire storm. So This is my pure mage:
Breton lv 50
Alteration 100 master with atronach, mage armor3 and magical defense3
destruction 100 master with dual cast, enanched damage for every school but not he perks after (like incenerate low life enemy, ecc...)
Enchant 100 enchanter5, body ench, mind ench, and double ench (for me the best perk in this game)
Restoration 100 master with regenerate and necromage
Alchemy 100 alchemist5, healer, poisoner, filantropy (correct?), and i dunno why but i can skip to purity and snake blood directly...

Dress all robes and clothes
Head 25% less des and res
Body " " "
Gloves +25% potion pow, +62 magicka
Boots 37% resist fire and electricity
Ring 25% less for des and alter
Chain " " "
(don't like conjur school don't ask why but is not essential anyway :) )

Dragon combat veeeeery easy
Dwemer sphere x 3 veeeeery hard .... I win anyway but i can't spend more attection in this kind of fight instead a boss or a dragon fight don't u think? I mean harkon combat 1 min...ancient dragon 1 min....dwemer sphere 2 min and a lot of damage almost dead....tell me where i did wrong or a better build...and i sure before level 50 falmer and dwemer was not so hard dungeon.
