I think like $10-20, just go buy a new cable at Wal-Mart and install it.

I am going to assume this isn't a high end bike so it should be pretty cheap. You're going to have to tweak it until you get it right in terms of sensitivity.

Why don't you go check for yourself how much it will cost? Take your bike to the workshop at the place you bought it and ask them. You know... just to make sure you get it right and don't do an epic faceplant from your bike when you realize you did it wrong.
