Game Breaking bug about shadowing Gulum-ei

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 4:20 pm

Everytime I try to get out of solutide or approach the area where gulum-ei is walking around at the game freezes and I have to turn off the xbox 360 to restart the game. What do I do to fix this? And can the developers work to fix this bug since it makes the game unplayable for that region for questing. Only way I can leave solutide is to fast travel to an area far away from gulum-ei.

I'm having almost the same problem with this NPC, When I have the Quest active (Scoundrel's Folly) It places the Marker for him outside the town map in a black area. If you go to the Marker on the world map and the quest active it says I have to go back into the town, The NPC is basical Off the map and i can't follow Him. This happened after I talked to him in the taveren in Solitude after he gets up and it says in the quest log "Shadow Gulum-Ei" When i zoned out of the taveren he dissapeared . . . . I can't complete the theives Guild quests

thats weird, mine worked fine. how long were you two playing before you did this quest? sometimes as said before many times (in other forums) if you play for a long period of time without resting the game slows down...

I tried loading it up after I been off the console for 3 hours and it still freezes basically I can't explore the area out of solitude and now I am at the main part of the main questline where I have to meet a lady at the stables but I can't go near that area without it freezing up. Basically I can't finish the game or any quests involving 1/3 of the entire skyrim map of that area without it freezing. I am no businessman but that is poor business ethics to give a customer a broken product. They might as well broken the discs in half before shipping them out everyone considering how much of a major game breaking bug that it is. Its a great game but if you can't even complete the main game even with the game fully installed on the hard drive or not its broken and needs to be fixed way before DLC is to be released for the game. Because who knows maybe I would have to go solitude stables to start the new dlc quests but guess what it isn't fixed so I would pay good money for yet another broken content.

Its not entirely their fault, yea you have problems with programing. but thats everything thats why they have patches. I know about 30 other people that play the game that i talk to on xbox live and none of them had your problem or mine. its just a once in a while thing we just happened to draw the bad straws. I also installed the game onto my hard drive to cut down loading times and some minor lag issues. try intstalling on to your hard drive. maybe that will work. Im wondering if that may be my problem clear the system cache uninstall the game then reboot , wonder if that might help incase you've already installed

Bump still having this problem now have 95% of my quests I have left involve the solitude area outside of the city and I can't complete it because it still freezes. I has happened to all the consoles I have played the same save on. Started a new save and got to the same point and it still freezes. It is a gamebreaking bug that needs to be fix in 1.4. And quite a few of my friends have the same issue as well with the quest.

He is inside the East Empire shipping storage area. On the docks next to the stable. Can u make it in there? Or at least the stable?

How about traveling from another direction to Solitude?

No actually it freezes when I enter that area through any means. Since I can't enter that area I can't finish the main story quests, theives guild quests, or any quests involving that immediate area where it is frozen. I hope that the developers are at least reading this post to fix that kind of issue. And another thing is if your game frequently corrupts saves its really a broken product. I will most likely buy this game when it goes for 19 dollars that way I don't pay $60 for a beta state game is the best way to describe it. I may buy this on computer since I have been hearing most modders of the community are fixing it faster than the developers are.
