So I have encountered a bug that literally breaks the game. I completed the first quest for Brynjolf then he gave me the quest to find him in the ragged flagon (Taking Care of Business). So I headed down to the ratsway and after I entered I picked the lock on the door to the left that takes you directly upstairs to the female "lowlife" NPC directly outside the flagon.

When I got upstairs, Brynjolf was there fighting with her, he was on his knees talking. Once I got in the room, the NPC agro'd me and I killed her, and Brynjolf said to meet him in the ragged flagon because we couldn't talk anywhere but there and then proceeded to walk away back towards to entrance. I go into the ragged flagon and he's not there, I've waited for over 24 hours and he never appears, I left and spent hours doing other quests and came back to Riften and he still doesn't appear.

I went back and cleared the ratsway the "normal" way, by going through the first unlocked door and fighting the NPC's, but he still does not appear. I can only find him outdoors in Riften standing in the stall where he was during the first quest. He is no longer giving his "distraction" speech however 2 NPC's are still standing in front of him as if he was, and when I try to interact with him, I can only ask where the ratsway is, and something else that doesn't result in anything useful. Does anyone have any idea what I might be able to do, as this literally prevents me from joining the thieves guild (my 2nd favorite faction).

I have tried restarting my xbox but obviously that didn't help. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
