Is My Game Broke?

Post » Sat May 19, 2012 12:11 pm

So a couple of weeks ago I was doing the Thieves Guild quest Scoundrel's Folley and I just got done talking to Mercer Frey at the very beginning of the quest and I saved in the Ragged Flagon - Cistern and turned off the system. When I turned it back on and loaded the game back up, my guy was frozen in place. I could look around and pull up the journal menu and when the game loaded up, it made the sound of me drawing my sword and showed the enchantment meter on my item deplete down to almost nothing but nothing else happened (the weapon was not drawn at the time). I couldn't move, I couldn't draw my weapons/magic, couldn't pull up my character menu, my health/magic/stamina meters don't show up and I couldn't talk to anyone or jump or anything. I could only rotate the camera and pull up the journal menu. Everybody around me would talk and I could change the settings and save/load my data and whatnot but couldn't do anything actually in the game. I figured I would wait for the newest patch (1.3) to see if maybe that fixed it but nothing. I'm still stuck. Pretty sure I'm going to have to just start a new character but figured I would see if anyone else was having this issue. I've tried turning off all the autosaves, deleting any corrupted data and even copying the file onto another account but nothing has fixed it. Help please? D:

I deleted Skyrim off my PS3, deleted all the saves and options and reinstalled it. That's what I did when I discovered the new patch did not do [censored] to help my broken main quest. Imagine my disappointment.

I can imagine you feel. :(

So you're saying I'll have to delete Skyrim off my system and basically start over as if I just bought the game? D:

1.3 didn't fix the broken quest issues and I was tired of waiting in anticipation that someday Bethesda will help us and restore our main quests. Till then, you can play all the other side and miscellaneous quests.

I can't even do that on mine. I can't move or anything. Just look and pause v.v

Even when they release future patches to fix broken quests do you understand that it will not fix it in your save? It will only fix the quest breaking in the first place and since yours is already broken your stuffed...exactly like the bookshelves fix in 1.3...it fixes them breaking in the first place but if you have a broken one it will always be broken...
