I recently uninstalled a mod that I had installed so long ago I forgot what it did, but I got it when the game was first released so it must have been something small. Any way, after loading my latest save there was the usual box that said some content (i.e. the mod) was unavailable, and asked if I wanted to proceed, clicking 'yes' has worked fine in New Vegas and Fallout 3 where I have done this before but this time it simply exited to the desktop, no error message or anything.

After some googling I found that this was meant to have been patched a little while back, so now I'm right confused. Any ideas how to fix this?
