I'm use to crashes in the game ,heck I'm not even sure if I have the patches or they automaticlly download from steam. I am now crashing near riften. I have about 200 hours of game play, but this problem persist. Ive but in a new GPU a month ago and that fixed the scrolling problem. 2 weeks ago i found a new driver for the GPU and that fixed most everything else. But the crashes near Riften are causing me to post for the first time Help.............

What's your specs? What settings are you using? Are you using any mods/ini tweaks?

Maybe you're running into the same issue. How big is the file size of your latest save (you can find them in "C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves" in case you don't already know)? 17-18 megabytes or above is when the most people start having trouble, so if your save file is bigger than that it's possible that this is your problem. Unfortunately nobody has figured out a solution to this yet, but there's a lot other users working really hard to understand it better in those threads I linked to.

Crashing near or around Riften is a very common problem. It's the game. Hopefully they will fix it.

I think it is not related to the save file size. My saved file was about 9-10 MB as I first had this problem.

I put in the spec. of my game. Doesn't crash in riften just around riften?

Are you SURE you don't have any mods? Not even an ickle-bitty texture mod to make a sword look fancy that you might have forgotten? Anyway, try a clean reinstall: it worked for me (See elsewhere)
