I have the exact same problem. I've send an email to Bethesda, but never got a reply. I also called xbox support, who had me go through an extensive number of steps, but nothing worked.
So did you ever figure out how to fix the problem? If so, could you tell me?
In my case it all began several months ago. I was playing with my profile signed into xboxlive, when I saw a message on my screen that said "disconnected from xboxlive". I finished the level I was playing, and exitted the game to the dashboard. I signed my profile back into xboxlive and since then I've been unable to continue the game.
