ati 5850
4 gig ram
windows vista 32 bit
bought game on steam.
Anyhow I go to steam room to talk about the disappeared boy

chuancey shows up and game crashes

also the stupid dog wont follow me on another quest says ED E presence I left ED E at a different section of the map and stupid dog still says the same thing.

need anymore info let me know

I tried loading the game and just not doing the steam room part but i cant even get out of there before it crashes again

A lot of people have this problem, so that's a bug. *Haven't been there myself yet*



Did you tell ED-E to wait somewhere or did you 'fire' him?
If you told him to wait, then he is still your follower and waiting for you, in that case it is normal for Rex to say that.
Rex will only come with you if ED-E is not your follower.

As for your ED-E thing, did you Dismiss him completely from your party? Not just tell him to wait at a certain location? And let me say this about the steam room. I specifically remember playing 40+ hours before arriving at that point in the game. It froze up on me too in the steam room. After that point, the game would randomly freeze up on me. Just lock up, no crash to desktop or anything. I turned the Anti Aliasing off and it seemed to resolve the freezing for me mostly. Its just silly.....40+ hours of game time, no freezes or anything, and then after the steam room, locks freezes CTDs, etc.

Do you have any mods installed?
Also you might post a dxdiag.

Yup same thing. I went back in a few times and got past the steam room finally, I couldnt tell you what i did to do it. I thought mebbe an online STEAM issue but it still crashed off line then i tried on win 7 and it still did it. But after getting past that hiccup I just finished the game
