Game does not start

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 7:04 pm

I am having issues trying to start the game, I am able to start the application, but it freezes at the Eye (CryEngine one). I am not really quite sure whats going on, but I tried re-downloading it and still the same issue.

I was able to play it on day one, so I don't think its my specs, but just an fyi.

AMD Athlon II X4 630 oc'd @ 3.0Ghz
EVGA GTX 560 Ti SC
4GB of Ram
Downloaded via Steam
AVG is installed (but I did add it to exceptions.)

I haven't seen any new threads about this, so it might be fixed. I'll try again when I get home.

What Anti-Virus software do you recommend I use that allows me to play Crysis 2? I have no money to spend on anything.

I probably have to redownload w/o AVG, won't I? If it doesn't work then, I am really going to be pissed...

3 Downloads later, I am still having issues. I even switched out anti-virus softwares, but still nothing.

I am hearing music though, but the screen is black. Also, Crysis2.exe sometimes disappears from the list of applications running. Can anyone help me? :\

I had same problem and after chatting to a EA person they told me this and it worked after a try or 2.

1: go to start menu
2: Run
3: type "msconfig.exe"
4: Select "Selective Startup"
5:Go to the "Services" tab
6:Tick the box "Hide all Microsoft Services"
7:Then "Disable All"
8: apply and restart

After doing the above try load up the game and it should patch and then load up.
Then go back through the step and reload what u have turned off. A restart will be needed too.

For me and others i think it was AVG that was cause the problem.. not really sure but i do have everything turned back on.

PS i hope this was helpful, it was for me. So if Decription is poor i not good at this side of PC trobbleshoot
