Game doesn't start

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 4:13 am

Hello,

I have installed an re-installed my game twice, and the problem hasn't gone away. When I try to run the game from the shortcut in the windows 7 games menu, from my desktop shortcut, from the disk, or from the Hunted folder itself, my system's CPU usage jumps from 0 to about 40-60% and back down to 0 after roughly five seconds. The game itself never starts, no flickering, no splash screen, no loading at all. My system specs are:

Windows 7 64 bit

Intel Quad Core 2.33Ghz

4GB RAM

Nvidia GTX 570

I clearly meet the minimum requirements of the game, and am dissapointed to find that it won't run. I've browsed for fixes, and only found a problem with missing Config files, I checked this, and I have all of those files. Any possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

While your issue may be different, one of the things that helped someone identify their issue was by viewing the Launch.log in your C:\Users\(Windows Username)\Documents\My Games\Hunted\DFGame\Logs folder. Might help to review this file, assuming it's being created at all.

Thank you for your suggestion, but unfortunatly, the folder was not created at all. I assume that log would only generate if the game itself starts. Thanks again for your help.

Just to update the situation, the HUNTED.exe file is picked up by task manager under the processes tab, but not as an actual task. Hope this helps clarify my situation.

My problem is: i am at the 3rd trial to install the game successfully. I installed it, started it - with some problems till it started - and played it for a view minutes and then leaved the game - BUT there is no HUNTED.exe, which starts the game or a launch-symbol on my desktop as i have it for any other game. Any suggestions? I am now trying to handle this problem since 4 hours and i am getting more and more frustrated, desperated and angry.
I own the normal DVD-Version from my local gameshop. :banghead:

Man, seems i've found the solution, the HUNTED.exe was hidden in HUNTED/Binaries/Win32. I've really never seen such a thing before in 10 years playing on PC/Notebooks. Very strange.
But the game still starts very slowly. And the minimum requirements - i own a Toshiba Qosmio X300, which has a 9700 Geforce card, and it's running without problems, but not on highest details.
And now i am in need of some beer. Man. :foodndrink:

I am glad you managed to get it working. I wish that was my problem too, as I would really like to play this game, I tried contacting InXile directly but havent heard back. Unfortunatly Im not the only one in this most unexplainable position. Fingers crossed that a patch is in the works. But good for you mate.

Thank you!! Good luck for you, hope this could be solved. But it's of course absolutely frustrating. The Witcher 2 for example needed also a release-day-patch..

Yeah, but at least I can run that. Playing it while I wait for this, Lots of potential in that game, I really like it, but every once in a while the swordplay, and amount of times enemies do that bloody evade thing drive me up the wall. Heres hoping Hunted starts working soon ( or witcher 2 gets better hit detection whatever comes first :P lol)

Hello! I had the same problem here. I clicked on the icon, and nothing happened. The computer read the disc for 10-15 seconds, and that was all. I had windows XP. I reinstalled my Win with a Windows 7 64. It works now. Strange problem...
