Game is easy as all (blankity)

Post » Wed May 09, 2012 12:14 am

Once again a Bethesda game is easy as all... Oblivion. :swear: Killed everything I came across in two hours, met a boss that killed me in two hits. But guess what, reloaded and I just walked backwards and double flamed him until he was dead, easy peasy. I walked through a bunch of traps, somehow setting them off without taking any damage and found
Spoiler
the fragments of mehrune's razor
, all this by level 3 and in about 2 hours. And I did this on "Expert" because it was easy to tell "Adept" was something my uncoordinated 10 year old sister couldn't die on.

"Master" here I come, maybe when I meet a dragon I'll have some sort of challenge. But still, when does the CS come out again?

Here is an idea. If you think it is too easy, change the difficulty to something harder. Just a thought.

OP says they're playing it on Expert. Just an observation.

I'm playing on expert but I just started. Go to master if it's too easy.

So in the last 30 minutes i've seen a "Gaurds are too tough" thread, "Dragons are too tough" thread and now a "WOW THIS IS TOO EASY" thread.

*sigh* humanity. :sadvaultboy:

I honestly didn't expect that last line. You made a thread about the game's lack of difficulty before you even try harder options?

Shows that you're more ambitious to complain than to try and resolve your problem.

P.S. I'm playing on Master, and kind of agree, I expected it to be a little bit harder.

As for giants:

Spoiler
Met one, however, he was being fought back by a few npcs and was killed before I could get a shot on him. (shows the amazing dynamic world that skyrim is).

I've seen a few "it's too easy" threads, and was reading that it was too easy elsewhere before it was released and people were playing the leaked 360 version. I made a thread then and got flamed for suggesting they should make enemies tougher in response to the reports that the enemies have the same health on easy settings as the do on hard settings. Game comes out, turns out that it is really easy. Go figure.

Flawed reasoning. What's surprising about the last line? Expert is actually easy... that's a justified complaint right there on its own.

Right. Except that he wasn't complaining that the option "Expert" in particular, was too easy, he was complaining about the game -in general- being too easy, before he tried the highest difficulty.

He might still find Master to be easy, or might not, but it seems strange that he'd post the thread before playing on Master.

After 3.5 hours (so my opinion could change) and Bleak Barrows completed, I'd agree that adept is much too easy. I'm also accumulating gold and health potions like crazy. (And despite the fact that I usually hate cooldown periods, I think there should be some type of potion spam control.)

Health, Stamina & Magicka regenerate much too quickly. And finishing moves happen too often (if they generate critical hits, not sure about that yet).

Overall I'm liking the game a lot, but I already see a need for a new FCOM/OOO/MMM.

This game is much more difficult than Oblivion, in my experience so far. Encountered 2 Spriggans just after the start of the game. They killed me in less than 5 seconds.

Not really. Sometimes it's really hard, even on Adept. Had a quest in which I had to kill some shaman. It was hard because, well, he could kill me with ONE shot from his magic stick.

This, OP need to try and sneak attack a giant, see how that goes. My first hard encounter was with the spider in bleak fall barrow, that thing hit hard!

They are pretty punishing...I faced one that was fighting a dragon at the same time and it uppercut me with its club. I literally went flying 300 feet into the air. I don't know if it was a bug or just how hard hit he me, but I could see the entire map from my ragdoll.

A lot of enemies that use spells are deadly early on.

One hit kills (or 3s kills) do not define difficulty. They reek of unbalancing.

Are the giants hostile by default? Or is there a reason to attack them?

Maybe I just svck at it, but I found combat pretty challenging so far even on adept level. Sure I have no problem with regular bandits or wolves, but I've met quite a few tougher enemies who stomped me pretty hard. When a dragon shows up it's definitely crap your pants time.

I've been playing an hour and a half and I've already died double edit: 7 times. I don't know what you're talkin about. Maybe you're just pro. I got one shotted by a trap in Bleak Fall Barrow. Not to mention owned several times by Draugr. I'm playing on expert as well. The Draugr are some sneaky bastards.

Wait until you get double teamed by frost trolls or giants on expert.
