I started the return to the tower mission and went through without any problems...until I go on the roof...I went through the door to the roof and then decided I wanted to go back in and check something and the loading screen comes up and the game freezes!! I can't even open the dashboard or anything but turn the Xbox off!! So I go and start the autosave and I just don't go on the roof untill I'm done...i finish the mission, I go back out on roof, go all the way to Samuel and then it freezes on the loading screen to the bar...I tried everything like deleting saves, tried on two different xboxes, changing storage units and nothing works!! I called Bethesda and they basically said I had to play through again and basically hope it doesn't happen again!! Wtf? They said it was not an issue they know much about but the Dr. Office loading problem is so they couldn't do anything...has anyone had this problem???

The exact same thing happened to me. I deleted the auto saves from during the mission and started over from the bar just before going to the tower. It worked and I haven't had a problem again.

Same problem here. It doesn't matter if I kill the Lord Regent or not, the game freezes when I try to leave the castle. I've tried exiting through the roof, the front door, and through an air vent. It always locks up on the loading screen. Huge bummer. I don't have any saves from before the tower (I followed the game's advice and "saved often") or I would try Tremeko's suggestion.

Our team is aware of rare instances where this issue can happen. We anticipate this issue being resolved after the first title update is released. When I have more details on the update, I'll let everyone know.

For now, you might want to try to take care of the mission's main objective last so you have time to explore and loot whatever they please, then quickly make way for the exit after dealing with the Regent.
