so whats the purpose of raising alchemy to make fortify enchanting potions to make better alchemy gear to rinse and repeat in order to make destruction reduction gear? currently feel like i wasted a bunch of perks and time in alchemy now ...

last night i reached level 100 enchanting

i hadn't spent a single perk in enchanting untill level 100 enchanting

i gathered a couple of filled black soul gems i had stored away and bought about 2 more + a mage hood

I then set out to white run and bought a blue mage robe and a silver ruby ring and a silver necklace with 3 gems in it (not that item type matters too terribly much when comes jewlery...)

1st i enchanted the hood with 25% fortify destruction and 25% fortify illusion i then stuck those same to enchants on the ring and the amulet thats a total of 75% destruction and illusion reduction

now on the mage robe i stuck 25% fortify destruction but i also added 15% fortify destruction + 10% magicka regen

thats a total of 115% reduction to the cast charge of all destruction magick

so i can run laps around winterhold college and never run out of manna freezing the place solid with ice wall

i can also potentially when i get level 100 destruction infinitatly cast the lightning spell

so what was the alchemy/enchating "exploit" supposed to have been for ?

Looks normal to me. The Alchemy<>Enchanting loop is for super-boosting weapons, armor and potions.

Alchemy has little impact on enchanting. The potion only increase base skill not total effect so the end result is half or less as powerful.
At alchemy 100 and all perks you can create an +12 enchant potion, it increase your enchant 6% with 4*+40% alchemy gear you can get +31 in enchant giving you 15% better gear.
With this you can make 4*+48% alchemy gear and create an +36 enchant potions, giving you around 18% better gear.
So alchemy does not benefit enchanting much, if you are only interested in enchanting alchemy is some help but not cost effective to put perks into.

However if you are interested in both enchanting and smithing, alchemy become powerful because of the smithing potions, up to +170% smithing.

Simple. UNLIMITED SHOUTS. Very fun to use, but I'd only recommend it to those who've played skyrim a lot and want something to spice it up a bit. Some cinnamon on your sweet roll if you will.

The Alchemy/Enchanting loop is not a waste of time, you simply misunderstand what its application is.

My Dragonbone War Axe does 1016 damage per swing.
