Game install to hard drive glitch?

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 5:08 am

Any free-roaming large world game like Skyrim always gets installed to my xbox 360 hdd as I know it does make them run smoother. The info popping up about this glitch worries me as I don't know if it is true or not.
If it is true then Bethesda should say so and either confirm that the patch on day 1 will sort it problem solved or not and for us to not install it until they release another patch. If it is not true then Bethesda should again inform us so we can install the game and get the smoothest running game we can. The fact that they have not confirmed or denied it bothers me because they make such an effort of getting other types of info to us which are not as important as this. I just want a simple answer.

Same boat here, I have seen too many posts and screens to think this anything but the current state of the game installed. I for one always install because the new 360s are pretty much dead silent that way.
The biggest issue with devs in general these days but in particular Bethesda is that they do not acknowledge (or refuse to publicly) these issues that have been brought to theirs and others attention. It would save a lot of aggro, threads and worrying if they simply came out and said "yes this is an issue, this is why (if known) and it will be fixed ASAP if possible". But they don't they keep quiet leaving everyone unsure as to whether it will ever be fixed. I personally would like to hear from Bethesda that they know of this and when we can expect it fixed or any solutions to it.

They have commented on it. It still doesn't matter because people just refuse to listen even if they do comment. And when they do listen, people don't believe them anyway.

Face it people are just going to :ahhh: until they have it for themselves.

I'm sure that Bethesda would have caught an issue like this on their first play through esp if so many people are claiming to have it.

This issue is being reported more and more and it's not even clear that Pete knows exactly what is up as far as this issue is concerned.

Right now it seems that there is a problem and that playing from the disc is the only way to get around it.

Then why are people still having issues? And isn't Pete PR? Would he really know if there was an issue?

I would think so, PR isn't just marketing.

I not saying the problem exists one way or another. I am pointing out that it has been commented on plain and simple.

Believe it or not, makes zero difference to me. There has been official word, that's all I said.

The problem is that there is an increasing number of reports of this problem, and the tweet from Pete was not very specific nor was the tweet he replied to so it very well may be he was speaking in reference to just installing the game in general and not the texture issue.

Until we get some official word from the Devs nobody can really say for sure what is going on. Though as I said, there are more reports of this issue popping up, so it seems likely that this is a real problem.

He is head of pr so I would not trust him, I already heard that statement and it does not help or address the issue in hand. If people who have played the game and have proved they have played the game have this problem then comment on that.

I am sure you are right, so why don't they relay that simple fact to us? We are still buying the game we just want a little helpful info!

Don't listen to this person, for your own sake really. This issue is being reported more and more and it's not even clear that Pete knows exactly what is up as far as this issue is concerned.

I'm curious. If people haven't even played yet...and Bethesda made the game, how would others know that there is a problem? Let people believe what they want and do what they want. It's not that difficult to uninstall it from an Xbox 360's hard drive.

If you can't actually help the OP, then you probably shouldn't comment. This thread got derailed. OP, in a couple days, when the game is officially released, they will have hardware/software forums up, which may ultimately be more helpful. In the meantime, there are some other threads with more info, so I would suggest a forum search.
