I have preorded the Collector's edition of Skyrim (PC) and upon asking my local GAME staff (Where i've preodered the CE) if they will be honouring the "premium quality world map" for preorders, their reply was, we have not heard of such promotion and your get the standard map shipped in the box i.e Paper Map.

I wanted to know if anyone else has ordered from GAME (UK) and if they know their branch will be running the promotion to receive the premium quality world map if you preordered the game?

Don't suppose a Beth employee could shed any light on where and how I could maybe get a premium quality world map because my local GAME have certainly dropped the ball on this. Very disappointing.

As far as I know they aren't doing it anywhere. That's why I ordered from TESCO. Much cheaper ( check it ) and I get the premium map

ShopTo are doing it: "Comes with Premium cloth map for initial release." seen at the top of the Product Description.

collectors edition definatly has it

I did see Shopto state they supply the better map but they dont sell the Collector's ed.

IGN unboxing the the Collector's edition shows a paper map in the box. i hope i will be supprised and find one in the CE!

The map comes IN the box. There is no way they could NOT give it to you.

THE COLLECTORS EDITION DOES NOT HAVE THE MAP! IT HAS THE DRAGON FIGURE, THE BOOK AND THE MAKING OF SKYRIM, IT DOES NOT HAVE THE MAP!YOU GET THE CHEAP LITTLE PAPER MAP BUT ONLY THOSE WHO PRE-ORDER THE NORMAL EDITION GET THE MAP.

Collectors Edition has it in there anyway. The bonus map only comes as a 'bonus' with pre-ordered 'normal' editions and Pete confirmed that ALL 'normal' pre-orders get one

Highlights:

• It is not up to the retailer it is being offered directly from Bethesda and comes packed with the game in available areas.
  
• There is no cloth map. Cloth map is a myth.

From what I've understood, the "premium" map is actually a paper map. Just printed on thicker paper than usual. So every CE unboxing has the premium map.

I ordered from Tesco too (only ￡24.98 with ￡5 off promo code). My order status says:

Not to sound mean, but in my experience the average Game employee generally doesn't have a great deal of knowledge pertaining to the products they sell. I'd try ringing the customer service line or bringing it up on their official forums and see if they give you a different answer.

If that doesn't yield a change in response, I'd recommend ShopTo.net, they're usually slightly cheaper (￡2-3) and do include the pre-order map.

I've pre-ordered from GAME too, but I've read nothing about a special 'upgraded' map. (I also don't care to be honest... I just want the game!)

All I can notice though it how huge the map is. I didn't expect that.

Hmmm... Tesco starting to look a bit iffy to me. Think I might be cancelling the order and trawling round the supermarkets on Thursday
