This thread is for the discussion of gaming deals found on http://store.steampowered.com/, http://www.gog.com/, http://impulsedriven.com/, http://www.desura.com/, http://www.greenmangaming.com/and other sites or stores.

See also the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398244-unofficial-is-insert-game-name-here-any-good-thread/, for advice on games you're considering.

The Legacy of Kain series is one of the most underrated games ever, storywise. I have seen other sites have the same deals, and one thing they have in common is that they don't include Blood Omen. Which is the beginning of the series and explains Kain's story.

The series is split between two sets of games. The Blood Omen series: Deals with you as Kain and his dark rise and ascension to godhood.

The Soul Reaver series: Deals with you Raziel, Kain's eldest child and lieutinent.

The one titled defiance was the last in the series and brings both Kain and Raziels stories to a close.

Ok, from what I seen this bundle deals primarily with Raziel's portion of the story. Imo, that forces you to side with Raziel since Kain's story is never fully explained.

For the record I started the series back in '96 with Blood Omen. So I always liked Kain more than Raziel.

I suggest you hunt the two Blood Omen games, to better understand the story. Also here's my suggested play order: Blood Omen 1, Soul Reaver 1, Soul Reaver 2, Defiance and Blood Omen 2.

As someone whos played them all, I say stick with Blood Omen 1 (if you can find it), Soul Reaver 1, 2, and Defiance. Blood Omen 2 is by far the weakest in terms of story and gameplay.

Blood Omen 1 plays completely different from the rest, its a top down action rpg. Soul Reaver 1 has a good story, but suffers from having a bit too many push-the-block type of puzzles.

Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance are IMO the most enjoyable, though Defiance is a game that will leave you wishing they'd continued the series.

Blood Omen 2 makes sense once you complete Defiance. Defiance answered many of the plotholes made by BO2. Imo, the original Blood Omen is the best one, it's an action rpg and you play as a badass antihero in Kain. The Soul Reaver in the original Blood Omen is a god weapon.

Already? How's the PC version? Playable with mouse and keyboard? (I got Uncharted 2 the other day, and so far the controller has been my greatest enemy :hehe:)

I don't know. I've only ever played one Tomb Raider game, and it was the original for PSX.

And the PSX Tomb Raiders were by far the best ones! Haven't played the new one myself yet, but general consensus among my Steam friends is that controller is the way to go.

To be honest I was 16 then and my only thought was boobies! Fast forward to the present and the new one looked promising, in fact it looked so promising I was considering on buying. But I'm so cheap I'll wait for some holiday sale.

Oh hell yes! A ton of http://store.steampowered.com/sub/25772/ games for real cheap.

KOTOR series, Jedi Knight series, Republic Commando, Battlefront II and a few other lesser ones.

Yea, I bought the Jedi Knight series. Only played a bit of Jedi Academy when I was young.

Well, worth it. It's a pretty in-depth game.

I think my favorite was Jedi Outcast, but Jedi Academy was fun too. The best: level up Force Pull and Force Jump, jump up over storm troopers, pull them upward, watch them fly. Never gets old.

Also, someone mind-tricked me into buying 5 games just now.

You're asking for frustration to play TR with anything other than a controller.

I don't see any EA games.

I do see a bunch of classics from Origin, Bullfrog, and Maxis though.

For those who decide to buy KOTOR 2 from the http://store.steampowered.com/sub/25772/. Please make sure to download the restoration mod:

http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-sith-lords-restored-content-mod-tslrcm

This makes it the game Obsidian originally wanted to release. But due to unrealistic demands from LucasArts, the game was released unfinished.

Your welcome. :D

I'm playing Dark Forces now and am really enjoying it. I'll get to the other soon enough.

This does seem like some Sith trick. Maybe Gabe is actually a Sith Lord.

I'm ashamed I didn't use this before, so here! :starwars:
