I don't remember if I saw it here or not but Alan Wake is 50% off and drm free on GOG.com until the 15th.

It is always drm free, the sale ends the 15th.

I heard the PC port for this game is top notch. Great amount of graphics options and the game looks significantly better than the console version. I don't know about the game itself, I think it was pretty popular at the time, so it's probably worth a look.

Hmmm
Just noticed Steam has gift cards or https://store.steampowered.com/account/redeemwalletcode... Seems they are only for sale at Gamestop for now.
I knew about the wallet but never the giftcards.

An interesting experience, but very short (roughly 90 minutes). It's not really a game. It's basically a story being told to you while you wander around an island that might or might not be real. It's not open world, it doesn't have combat, it doesn't have puzzles, it's not exactly horror either, though the guys are now working on the Amnesia sequel. Definitely not for everyone.

I found it satisfying, but I think a lot of people who bought it at first didn't know what they were getting. If you have Half Life 2 installed you can try the original free http://www.moddb.com/mods/dear-esther to see if it's something you'd like. The Steam release is a remake with gorgeous graphics and other improvements, but it's still the same 'game'.

This is a good price to pick it up at though. Sure the money to gameplay ratio isn't that great, but it's still cheaper than a movie and just as long. Just make sure to play it in a quiet room with not too much light, getting the atmosphere right is pretty important.
