Game wont install (release date) Germany

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 9:28 pm

Hi,

the game wont install. Received it today but every installation attempt leads to a steam error anouncing that the game isnt released in Germany yet.

What to do?

Regards

Try restarting Steam.

Isn't Germany's release scheduled for the 12th?

Yeah, including most of Europe. I got the game disc yesterday, but I will have to wait until friday until Steam unlock it so I can play.

another reason to bann steam ... according to German (and most European) law thats near the border of fraud ... accepting money, delivering stuff, refusing the service

srsly, how can it possibly be, that i bought a game, but i do not own it. it's not mine until someone allows me to play it at a specific date.
ok a little bit overreacting here.
is there any possibility to play this with games for windows or something?

on my opinion its not overreacting at all ... what would Bethesda say if we demand the DVD first and pay about one week after arrival

Edit:

since this is the second time this happens with a Bethesda game ...

when I write my next game pre-/review for a Bethesda game I will drive the point home that it is a mistake of massive proportion to pre-buy/pre-order a Bethesda game

I wish i bought the PS3 version. I think you don't need any online activation in that case right?

True, this is exclusive to the PC games that use Steamworks as DRM. Doesn't happen with any PS3 or 360 games.

like I said ... a strong reason to steer clear of Bethesda games in the future because the really anoying thing is ... if I would use a patch from one of the several game-copy-sites I could allready install and play the game

I do really understand why Bethesda chose Steam. But this release date BS is really annoying.
And not only that. I don't even know if my HD 5770 can handle this game on pc :P

And I dont. Several independend investigations of European Universities showed the only working copy protection mechanism is ... quality software. Even steam-DRM is allready cracked. You allready get several "game fixes" for dishonored on several of the "game copy"-sites.

And about the "release date"-stuff ... well the only effect is to really anoy the customers
