The game shouldn't be too hard to get into for a console player it will feel more like a third person hack n slash than an FPS game.

From what I hear it's still uncertain and they'd like to. What kinds of shortcuts could be abused anyway?

Not that they could be abused just that the gamepad dosen't have enough buttons.

Arena was the first TES game with no gamepad support, only keyboard and mouse.

I had enough buttons to play a Jedi Shadow tank on SWTOR; the class with the most complex rotations and sheer number of skills to use at any given time. And effectively at that.

As Elder Scrolls Online will only have six action bar slots, I don't think players will be at any real disadvantage.

I think he's referring to other buttons to open windows like Character window, inventory, etc...

But I don't see how a Gamepad limits that. You use the gamepad for the hotbar, and the keyboard for those other menus. You can even get mini keyboards that fit on gamepads.

We'll only have 6 abilities on our action bars.

For ESO a current gen console controller will have more than enough buttons.

OP, their is software you can use that will make a controller work with an MMO. If the game doesn't directly support the use of a controller can still use one if you set it up right. I used my x360 controller for PvP in WoW for a while, it worked out nicely.

I was thinking of using a game pad, more of a console gamer myself, however i look forward to getting into console game, i was thinking about getting the Molten Razer mouse but then i realised it would probably be pretty pointless seeing as ESO only has 6 hot keys..
