dont forget dragon age 2 it shipped without dx11 but was included as a 1gb patch that was available on release day.
omg lol it was a high resolution pack dumbo
dx11 wouldnt work with out it.
Yes it did. The day1 patch for DA2 only included the "very high" texture option. DX11 works fine without it. DX11 worked in the demo too but a few of the DX11 only features didn't and it was buggy.
DX11 vs DX10 related question even DX9 for that matter
Currently the difference between DX10 and DX11 is MINUTE if you think you can see MAJOR DIFFERENCES you are infact, wrong. There was was a huge debate a year or so back when the new nvidia cards started coming, out about DX11, The huge difference back then was: Nvidia 4xx and higer cards supported DX11 but anything below 4xx did not.
There was a patch, unofficial ofcourse to make your windows 7 believe your 2xx card did support it, and voila it worked why? well, it was just a registry issue about authentication... Something that simple? yes because DX11 was just a -mark up- incentive for people to buy DX11 cards, but DX10 is 98% as powerfull as DX11
I could be wrong in the sense that they actually pulled the plug on updating DX10 since then, and DX11 is now EONS AHEAD... but I sincerely doubt that, wouldnt you?

This is completely wrong. There are a few DX11 only features like tessellation that won't work on a dx10 card no matter what. Besides that though DX11 is designed to be backwards compatible with dx10 hardware, so a game can have a dx11 mode that works on dx10 cards. Saying dx11 is nothing but a conspiracy to make you buy new cards is moronic. And you can not "patch" windows to make teselletion work on a dx11 card.
