gamesas.com Account not connected with EA Account?

Post » Thu Jun 17, 2010 10:32 pm

I'm just curious why it doesnt use the EA account, like bioware's social site does. And its a bit confusing, because I didn't realize you can use your gamespy.com ID. Luckly I didn't rush to create a new account. After my EA account didn't work, I hit Recover Password from ingame and thats where I saw its powered by Gamespy. So I just logged in with my gamespy id that I use for all games powered with gamespy.

Oh, and by logging in with my gamespy ID, it automatically created a gamesas.com forums account... WTH? I didn't have to create one, basically I didnt agree with any form of a terms/condition. Kinda strange.

Yeah even the EA support I talked to was suprised. I can log into game fine can't log into gamesas.com and no idea why, my ea master account doesn't work for gamesas. Didn't notice the gamespy thing so I'll try that but don't think thats going to help me either.

I don't ever remember creating a gamesas.com account but somehow they had my email address and I was able to reset my password.
I have no idea what my nickname is. Hopefully it will show me when I post this.
And as for that Gamespy account... Yeah I made a new one (haven't touched gamespy in about a decade). and even that isn't working to log in.

well it shows your email account instead of a user name, meaning everyone can see your email... not very secured site...

Yeah I dont ever remember creating a gamesas account either, have no issues getting into game but using that same login info to get into gamesas doesn't work, im forced to use a second account just to log into the forums. The password recovery feature isn't sending emails to reset emails.

With what account did you log into the game with? I tried using my EA account and didnt work for me, only my Gamespy worked in game... but like I said, as soon as I logged in with my gamespy ID in game, it automatically created a gamesas.com account for me, without me having to create one, which is strange.

Ya, its a complete messup,... they should have just used EA master account for the gamesas.com social site and ingame, instead of gamespy, and and everything would have been fine. Bioware Social works flawless, with EA Master account. Oh well, hope they can explain how things work.

Well since my gamespy account has multiple nicknames I tried to use one of the other nicknames on that account, sure enough I was able to log into the game and it created my character name as the same name. Tried to log into the gamesas site using that second nick name, no go. Then had a bright idea try the password reset option on this temp gamesas.com account i created so I can post, again no responce 30+ minutes later.

Can anyone use the password reset feature, as in actually get an email from it.

I ll just add my grievance to the pile, I suppose. Here I sit, just arrived home from a long day at the office, excited at the prospect of checking out Crysis2. Instead, Ive spent 2 hours trying to figure out this DAMNED EA account mess. I can log in to this site, no problem, but regardless which EA user ID I try to use, Im told its not valid. When I try to reset the password, sure, that works fine. I can reset it to my heart's content. However, that doesnt change the fact that the goddamn game still thinks that same profile info is invalid.

I refuse to come home, after spending an entire day working on computers and networks, and work on MORE annoying software problems. EA has 24 hours to respond to my support request, to resolve this absurd account problem, or I will demand a refund. Ive tried my gamespy ID, which is the same as my direct2drive profile info, and everything else I can think of. This crap is broken. Fix it NOW, or I *swear* this is the last EA game I buy. Ive been dealing with EA crap for years and years, and Im done.

no idea.. dragon age 2 is a joke of a game. I really doubt that came from bioware studios, rather they just used bioware name to brand it,... but on topic, this is just a bad way they did the login for crysis 2. The should just release a patch to remove gamespy logins, and let us log in with our EA accounts.
