Gamespy making me nervous about PC Skyrim...

I already had a few concerns. This certainly doesn't help.

EDIT: It's not a doom and gloom article. It's more of a "watch out for this and that, based on recent history of past games."

You don't have to worry!
Even thouh skyrim was demo'd with an xbox, they have said multiple times that it was developed on pc (with xbox in mind, but still)
Also, no one but bethesda has played the pc version, as its still locked on steam.
Anyways, I cant stop you from worrying, but try not to it will be awesome none the less.
I am picking up the pc version (collectors) and I will be just as happy, if not happier than my xbox brothers.

Cheers,
Don't let poor claims ruin a great game for you

Of course it was developed on PC. How can you develop a game on a Xbox360?

I really do hope it's not like a First-Person-RPG as they mentioned, though I wouldnt be suprised. Still the game do look amazing and immersive. Im also worried that it hasnt enough depth and focus too much on just combat.

Biggest thing I'm afraid of is the streamlining, but all the people playing it aren't saying it's streamlined at all.

We'll see how the game looks on the PC tomorrow.

The bottom line is, the game won't be fulfilling the graphics potential of a PC first game (like Battlefield 3) and probably won't even be offering some unique graphics goodness on the PC platform (Like Batman Arkham City).

But the game is still going to shine on the platform. The graphics might not be up to modern PC ahrdware standards, but the PC is the only place it will have double the texture resolution, will play at 1080p or higher, will run at 60 FPS or higher, and it's the only place where the view distance will be amazing, and object pop-in will be non-existant.

Not to mention MODS!

I'm not worried.

Concern No. 1 answer: Mods... Though the game may not look like 'real life', mods will take care of this... Just look at Morrowind and Oblivion when it’s overhauled. Give it a year or 2 and Skyrim’s graphics will be insane.

Concern No. 2 answer: Great expansiveness and freedom comes with a price, of course there will be bugs~ But Bethesda will fix as many as possible, and the ones that they may miss, again, will be fixed with mods~

Concern No. 3 answer: Uhm... After watching all the footage, i would say the game is looking stunning...

Concern No. 4 answer: There was a huge debate about this long ago for a long time, and many came to the conclusion that although some skills were removed, stats were removed and other things removed, they also replaced those things with a newer and better system... Now, i come from RPGs which are all about stats, builds, this that, but when i heard about all the things being removed/changed, i was actually glad... I feel as though now that when i make a Mage, Thief, or Warrior, or whatever, that they will FEEL like it. In Morrowind and Oblivion i didn’t get that feeling, since it was so easy to max every single stat, have every single skill, and end up being the master of all, which to me killed off replayability, because your one character could do everything.
Spell creation was removed, at first i was a little upset, but then realised that with the new magic system they added in, it doesn’t matter... If anything, magic now looks and feels like magic.
The only thing that made me a little sad was that armor slots were reduced once more... But that cannot be helped due to hardware limitations~ Maybe in TESVI we may see the old armor slots returning~ Either way, it doesn’t bother me~

im not too much concerned with any of these potential problems.

bugs are bound to happen and i will try to ignore them unless they break a game or a quest without me knowing it's a quest that got bugged.

the way they streamlined it seems like a none issue for me... just cuz i like what they've done.

also i dont know what the game had looked like if rolston had been a part of the dev team so i dont know much about what im missing and it's not likely to effect me. the game looks pretty great. i am aware of all the things i dont like about it (cough melee combat system cough 3rd person animations cough. 'scuse me) but other than these things i think it's a worthy successor to oblivion and all the great ideas he brought to oblivion are still here.

i AM a little disappointed that this is not a PC FIRST game. a shame. it could have looked more like the witcher 2 than what it looks like now, but oh well. maybe mods will help a bit, though it will probably take time.

I'd be more concerned about the not-starting/CTDs and GPU/driver issues that PC reviewers are tweeting about. Better hope that the day 1 patch smooths that out or we could have another RAGE on our hands.

All I have to say is this: I have a MSI GTX 560 Ti, i5 2500K and 8GB of DDR 3 @ 1600.

I purchase Skyrim for the 360.

I didn't do that with BF3 or Deus Ex.

Well done, you got 2 games that can't be modded on PC, and a highly moddable one on console.

That article was rubbish.
With the first 3 things they went on about how something could go wrong and then went on to say it won't go wrong because of x and y.

Gamespy has always been pretty bad tbh...

nah, I think its pretty baseless to say all these things, because from what i've seen, its looks fine. At the very least it will be better tha oblivion. trancemaster, the elder scrolls have always had a strong focus on combat of some sort, in fact its the most predominant gameplay, the whole e3 demo was pretty much about combat.

The game was displayed on a console to show how good it looked on a console. The truth is, consoles have almost always had a lower graphical ability than PCs, so if they show how good it looks on a console, PC fans can be assured it'll look better on their PC, apposed to showing PC gameplay and leave console gamers with no idea how their game is going to look.

Not really interested in modding Deus Ex or BF3. Those games are fine as is.

Modding Skyrim was an appealing factor for me. But at the end of the day, I just accepted the fact that Skyrim will be better on console. It will run better, get patched faster and have far less issues. Plus extended play favors the couch. (Please, do not tell me you have your PC hooked up to your 55" and that you use an XBOX controller to play. I don't feel like schlepping my PC back and forth just to play a game.)

EDIT - Spelling
