Has anybody found the M1 Garand yet? If so where is it.

weapon merchant at Mccarran. if you do his unmarked quest at the end he give you "This machine" well its basically M1 grand

p.s. im not sure it was unmarked quest or not. though..

You get it from a quests in Camp McCarren. Talk Conteras in the supply shack area place.

You get it from either Lt. Boyd or from Contreras in Camp McCarran. You can either turn Contreras in to Lt. Boyd for stealing weapons and she'll give it to you or it's given to you by Contreras if you don't turn him in at the end of the unmarked quest "Dealing with Contreras".

Wow, that's a waste of the best overall Gun in the game. I love me my This Machine.

Afraid not. How far are you into the game? Once you get to Vegas on the main quest line all your rep gets reset to neutral on the folks that hate you.

I got the M1 Garand. And I also have 90 repair so I went ahead and got the reloading bench perk which unlocks different kinds of ammo you can make at reloading benches. One of the kinds of ammo you can make is .308 JSP hand load which does 2x the damage of the regular .308 ammo. So my M1 does 99 damage each shot!!! It can two shot almost everything, this is one of my four main weapons at the moment right behind the 50 cal. and my baby, Oh Baby!

"This Machine" is the Lincoln's Repeater of New Vegas.

I wonder if This Machine and That Gun were made by the same guy.

I wonder what the names of his kids are...This Girl and That Boy maybe?

There is no M1 garand. It's a unique called "this machine". JSP also does not do 2x damage, it increases the damage by 50%. It's also a bad sniping weapon since it's spread isnt very good but a great secondary weapon for a sniper to use inside buildings and such.

All I know is he calls his wife "That Woman." :rolleyes:

I really hate it when people call it the M1 Garand... it angries up the blood.

Apparently it's called 'That Gun' because testers called it 'that gun from Fallouts 1 and 2.' The problem is I have no idea what gun they're referring too.

This Machine is a fairly decent mid range head shotting weapon. If it didn't weigh so much I'd pick it over Ranger Sequoia.

try wearing NCR uniform to get in camp macarren not sure if that will work but anyway i am friendly with ncr so what i did was go to where this contreras guy is in the building at camp macarren and you need to hack his pc 50 science skill and then go the seargent and turn him in and she gives you the gun, its that easy, however, contreras has ammo for sale and i think he eventually has a lot so there is a way to get it where you do some quests for contreras and at the end he gives you the weapon, you have to be level 12 before the dialogue comes up for the quest, like i said i'm on my first playthrough still so i did it the easy way and just turned him in to the lady who is head of security or something and she gave me the weapon, its a cool weapon, for .308 ammo, the gunrunners also the khans armory merchant wh is a lady has a lot of .308 ammo she stocks up on , however you need to be on good terms with the khans but so far its the best supply of .308 ammo i have found so far for that weapons.
