[BUG] N'Gasta! Kvasta! Kvakis! Glitched

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 3:51 pm

I came across the book during an earlier quest, and have since then never been able to remove it from my inventory. I now have a quest to find and deliver it to the winterhold, but the quest NPC does not realize that I have it on my person. The quest marker points to the chest in the forsworn keep where I found it originally, but nothing is inside. I have tried to remove the book and place it back into the chest but it won't let me. Anybody know of a console command that can reset the quest for me?

Thanks

I've got the same issue, looks like no-one's found a solution yet. Can't find anything in the Wiki either.

Quite the contrary, some people have found solutions(even if they involve using the console). But it seems few people use the search function. Ok, for the actual help. I am assuming you don't know the quest ID, let's find that so we can fix the quest. Go to the chest where the marker is. Open the console and target the chest. Make a note of the refID. You will use this to find your quest.
Then, type in the console sqt. A list will come up. Use PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN to scroll in the list. It will be a little hard, but using the refID of the chest you will be able to identify your quest. Just search for the refID number. Make a note about the questID, then write here.

Or, if you're lucky, you could search for the a quest ID that starts with MGR (this is after you type sqt in the console)

I had a good look round and couldn't find the quest id.

I did work out another solution, however. Used the console to drop the book "player.drop 0001ad0e 1" and then just picked it up again, which triggered the next quest message.

I have been avoiding the Wiki, in case I saw any spoilers by accident, but I think this was justified.

Glad the dropitem command worked, it's easier than searching through the list. I didn't mention it because, for some reason, it never worked for me and the quest(s) never got updated.
