Gauss Pistol

Post » Sun Dec 05, 2010 5:04 pm

i don't really use any of the energy pistols...at all...ok except the alien blaster....
i love the gatling laser and the gauss and holorifles...
and i'm thinking they should bring the gauss pistol back, it was a fun little gun in Fallout 2 :)

Who's with me?

I have never really played the old fallout games but it seems like a cool idea (how to deal with the massive recoil?)

I wouldn't mind seeing it return, if nothing else it would give EW pistol specialists a really top-end weapon and free them from the need for a Gauss Rifle or Plasma Caster for hard targets.

I never really used one myself in FO2, but then I rarely specialized my weapons to that extent and for a more general Small Guns user the Rifle was a much better option. Of course, I also toted around a Vindicator Minigun, so a pistol would have felt a bit anemic in comparison.

*wishes the Vindicator was back too* :gun: (yes, I know it's in a weapon pack mod)

The Gauss pistol was a small gun in Fallout 2. The pulse pistol on the other hand was an energy weapon and did electric damage rather than emp.

I believe they should bring back all of the older weapons from the previous games. I personaly miss the bazar rifle and the guass pistol. I do dislike how the gause rifle used mfc instead of the original gauss rounds and the issue of
constant reloading with the current gauss rifle. The wattz series weapons were awesome! I also don't believe that modern weapons should exist at all in this game considering that the fallout timeline is different from ours. And any modern weapon that is placed into the game would be detrimental to the depth and emersion of the game. I think if you want "modern" weapons so badly in the game go download one of the various mods for them.

You have to remember that the reason why this universe is so awesome is because it is its own universe and not ours as if it were a parrallel dimension so to speak.

Pulse pistol was in but no gauss..and there are alot of weapons from the originals i'd like back.

i have found that NV has guns i wouldn't expect to be in the fallout world tho....like the anti material rifle was a bit of a surprise same with the m16 m4 etc...i like them but i'm not sure they fit the fallout world...

You do realize the 12.7mm Pistol is the weapon you're asking for here. The 12.7mm (.50" in standard measurement) cartridge was expressly stated by Josh to be indentical to the .50AE round chambered in the IMI Desert Eagle. The esthetics of the weapon, like you say, are not that of the Desert Eagle, but the weapon is a semi-auto pistol that fires basically the same round. So go ahead, be that fat kid covered in ice cream, because you already have your wish.

Yes bring back the guass pistol! I think it would be suitable if it was used as a silenced stealth weapon, after all the sound effect from fallout2 sounds like a silenced gun to me.

So that pistol is essentially the deagle?

It doesn't look a damn thing like one, but it's a .50 cal semi-auto handgun. For all intents and purposes, at least as far as playing the game goes, yes.

It makes sense but I think it'd be cool to have a deagle looking handgun :D
