Gearbox to honor fallen fan in Borderlands 2.

While I was wondering the internet, being bored, I stumbled across something that has hit me at home. Gearbox, the company that made Borderlands received a email from a man named Carlos. You see Carlos was a massive Borderlands fan and so was his friend, Michael. Sadly, Michael aged 22, passed away one night because of cancer. In honor of this man's life that was cut too short, Gearbox made this to remember Michael. http://www.destructoid.com/gearbox-to-honor-late-fan-as-an-npc-in-borderlands-2-215160.phtml

That is a close to home for me, as one of my friends passed away recently. He was 15, he was one of my closest friends and I'll never forget our nights when he brought over his xbox and we played Fallout. So,I vote we raise our glasses or whatever we have on hand to Michael and Izzy. May they pass on into the afterlife, where ever that might lead.

That's a pretty awesome thing to do, Gearbox. It shows that you listen to and care about your fanbase. I remember Bethesda did a similiar thing with some fallen forumgoers and developers with tombs in Morrowind.

Well, it popped out to me because the same thing happened to me, just with some stuff switched around. Of course I didn't get a claptrap to say that but only difference between This and mine was

Carlos and Michael Borderlands, Izzy and Nick Fallout.

Different age.

How did Gearbox confirm this was legitimate? If I Email them my name, tell them I died and this is my close friend Billy messaging them, will I get a NPC to?

I've heard about this before from somewhere else. I think this was a great thing for Gearbox to do. Great Job.

And this is why I love Gearbox. They pay attention to their fans.

May they have a good time in Valhalla, I just hope they save some mead and wenches for the rest of us.
