General Questions.

Hello,

I've belated the use of the creation kit for a long while, due to the fact of when it was first released a lack of knowledge on major topics. I'm just wondering if I can get an idea of what is the most effective ways as of now and/or helped into the right direction as to find them. As alot of game engines these days have the simple "File > Import" function.

- The most efficient process of importing assets from 3D Packages?
- Does the creation kit support types of rigging? (CATrig and the like)
- Does an asset have to be UV mapped to work inside the engine?

I've had a look in and around the internet for help on these, I've found multiply answers but all seem a fair few months old. I'm posting to find out if anything has advanced in certain areas, that I may have missed that may or may not be more upto date.

Anytime taken to read or reply is much appreciated.

What is a 3D Package? The CK will only allow you to use .NIF models, which have been exported via Blender or 3DS Max (to my knowledge)

Rigging information is stored in the model's Skeleton .nif. All rigging work is done outside of the CK. Animation is done through Havok Behaviors.

- Does an asset have to be UV mapped to work inside the engine?
To my knowledge, yes.
