Try selling them to the college. I actually haven't thought of that as an issue. Let us know if it works.

the dragon scroll is needed for skyrims main questline, the other two can be sold to the moth priest, once the main story is done the dragon elder scroll can be sold to the college

Main quest is done, I had to buy back the elder scroll for the dawnguard quest. However I can't sell back to him, also I have completed the main quest, "kindred judgement" is the last quest done for me, I do have some miscellaneous quests requiring me to go back into soul carin, maybe that's it?

It says 20 weight each, but quest items don't actually add up to your carry weight. Empty out your inventory and you'll see.
