I am a level 45 playing on expert, and I am getting destroyed also.... The only tactic I got working for me is using enchanted clothing to boost my archery damage to +100%, and timing my sneak attacks very carefully, and/or just sneak by without attacking them.... Its a challenge, but very fun.

Level 51 and expert difficulty. it is no walk in the park which is exactly what i was hoping for. After playing Oblivion with the OOO mod I got used to the idea of the game not focusing around you being the be all and end all.
To survive, well hide and run works pretty well if you can't hack or explode whats in front of you.

Stay close to Raven Rock at low level, look for in-town quests, roam the southern shores. And, for pete's sake, don't go toe-to-toe with a Netch.

I'm heartened to hear that Dragonborn is still challenging for higher level characters. I was afraid my 46th level character who had already completed the main quest would be too powerful and ruin the experience. I do think I'll give playing him a rest until the DLC is released for the PC though so that he doesn't gain any more levels.

i'm level 51 and all enemies so far are the highest variants besides some humanoids, almost all draugr deathlords etc. from what I heard this dlc is more scaled for middle/higher levels since dawngaurd was more for lower to some extent.

Last I checked the starting level for this dlc is supposed to be 20 as to stop you from getting destroyed.

yeah 20 would be doable but still pretty overwhelming depending on your setup. but i've heard 30ish is more stable. even in the late 40s it can kick your ass like nothing before on the higher difficulties.

Indeed I was just pointing out to the OP that 14 is to early to start this dlc.
