Getting pics from a phone to the PC?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 8:56 am

Title says it all. Just recently came across an SD card and have been using it mostly for music. But I've been thinking of it can be used to put stuff ON the phone theres gotta be a way to take it OFF of it as well.

Anyone got any tips? Reason for this is cause I want to use my Skyrim characters face as my avatar on the forums. But my webcam is CRAPPY.. like pixelated crappy. And somehow my phone creates such a nicer sleek and overall cleaner image.

Yup..

How you would do it is entirely dependant on your phone.

Generally speaking, there's an option when you select a picture to "copy to memory card" or something along those lines.

You could do this. Or what I usually do is just text the picture to my e-mail. As in, go to your contacts, and put your e-mail as the contact. It should work, because it works on my old Samsung Alias. (Which is about 4 years old).

Many modern phones come with USB charging/data cable, just need to find the software to transfer.

I've also transferred using Bluetooth - bought an $8 Bluetooth dongle for my laptop (plugs into USB port).

My Droid has the option of mounting itself as a disk drive when I plug it into my PC. Putting things on it are as simple as copying and pasting.

On my old phone I had a micro-SD card that I would put all of my pictures on, then I would put the card into a micro-SD to normal SD card adapter and plug it into my PC. From there I would simply copy over any pictures that I wanted/addwhatever pictures I wanted. Then put it back i the phone.

Dropbox mobile if you don't want to fiddle with cables all the time.
