Jonahirt is not going to like this.
I however, remain indifferent. I remember how EA would try to make me buy their pass, but I resisted. The whole Online Pass thing was silly though, so I suppose it's a good thing that they decided to ditch it.
Seems like this is what happens when consumers speak with their pockets. I'm happy to hear this, hopefully more companies follow with things like this. Especially things like pre-order specials.
Even when EA does something decent, people can't help but still hate on them
This is pretty cool I guess. Not super interested in any of the games their releasing in the near future, but it is pleasant news, nonetheless.
I was about to say the same thing.
Come on, you have to at least pat EA on the back a little for actually being the first to get rid of these abominable online passes. We can only hope other publishers do the same.
Doesn't matter. They still publish games made for casuals. That make's them evil, in my eyes.
THIS IS [censored] SARCASM DAMMIT!
A step in the right direction at least. The whole idea of online passes is just greedy anyways.
Now if whether or not other publishers will follow suit, I doubt it.
Making games for casuals? That's why you see them to be evil?
I guess that's your preference, but I think its real problems like the microtransactions or the bad customer service that makes them "evil". None the less, is getting rid of online passes still a step forward to the right direct like said above.
I'm surprised by how many people think I'm being serious when I make those posts.
Edit: Oh my god! Legion64, too? I want to scratch my eyes out. I made a post like this a few days ago and now I feel uncomfortable that a lot of people who read that think that's my honest opinion.
When they remove micro-transactions from their $60 games, then maybe I'll consider purchasing games from them again.
This is an "ok" start though.

Doesn't really balance out the fact they were one of the first, if not *the* first, to come up with the idea in the first place.
It's good to see you don't take it too seriously

You might want to think about it before doing that. It is difficult to determine whether someone is being sarcastic or humorous when simply posting. It can look a lot like trolling or flame-baiting, and can take some effort to convince a moderator you were only kidding.
Holy Christ almighty. Talk about corporate drone.......
I figured having a serious post earlier in the thread that's practically contradictory to the other would be enough. But I guess I'll have to include a message at the bottom saying "This is a joke" next time, even if I think that degrades the quality of the sarcasm.
I actually have to agree with you on this one. Consumers are angry that they have to spend extra money for the complete product? You don't say.
I'm not saying it's your fault, I'm saying I feeling like an idiot that deserves 1500 facepalms.
Can't say I have the skills to detect sarcasm through the internet.
I guess that's true. I don't like EA as much as the next guy, nor am I willing to start praise them for doing away with the online pass. They still have plenty of faults like the ones I have stated above to make them one of the worst companies in the gaming industry.
