ID Software are my favorite game developers & they created my favorite game franchise of all-time DOOM! But year after year we go without any news on Doom 4, we get promised news at Quakecon and then when Quakecon shows up we get nothing. I'm pretty sure we can agree that Doom 4 will be on the next generation consoles & not on the ones that are released now but come on ID Software give us something, anything. Even if its just a 30 second trailer which shows us the logo, at this point I would looooove that. But having us wait all these years without anything is annoying to all Doom fans. If Doom 4 isn't shown at Quakecon 2013 or before then I have officially lost hope in ID.

We weren't promised news about Doom 4 at QuakeCon. Various sites speculated that there may be news, but there was no promise.

This is just a repeat of all the wailing about stuff that they were alleged to have "promised" for Rage, and which, when you dig at the evidence, turned out to not have been "promised" at all.

Id already took Bethesda's advice and now refuses to talk about future releases, but the wild speculation and outright lies never stop. If anyone likes that kind of thing I suggest hanging out at conspiracy theory websites or Kotaku.

Can't blame him though, we've been waiting for Doom4 since Doom3. I think it makes sense that people feel like this.
I don't really have hurt feelings, but I don't have that same admiration I used to have toward id. They're still my favorite though, lol.

All I can say is, rather than stressing out about it, think about other stuff and get to know other games in development. When you see a bit of Doom4 news, that's when you can start getting hyped.
