A gift from the King

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 9:47 am

So I just dealt with the situation in freeside and the King now owes me a favor... I have more money than I know what do with so I don't need that... And since I have so much money I don't need him to get me into the strip. This leaves two choices, have him end violence between locals and NCR citizens or join the Kings. I want both but I am wondering which is going to be more valuable in the end. What are the benefits of joining the Kings? Does having him calm down the locals matter for my mission from Crocker?

If you calm down the locals with your favor, it means that the Kings will get a better ending if you take the NCR path. (And a worse ending if you take House.)

Spoiler
Keep it in your back pocket if you don't need it right then. Allows you to finish "Kings Gambit" in record time.

I already finished that mission so that's irrelevant.

This is your only chance to join the Kings, and the only way to get a haircut ingame is from Sergio, who will only treat Kings. So if you want to get a haircut anytime in the game, you have to join the Kings with the King's favor.

If you join them you get their outfit and I hear a new haricut. Other than that I don't think it affects much either way. Having them stop the violence just has the NPCs sometimes talking about how the violence stopped. If you already finished the quest "King's Gambit" then there's no reason not to join the kings unless it fits with your roleplay.
