I thought Barbas' voice actor did a fine job.

No, the default voice actor was already annoying enough. However, if they got the voice actor for Jafar to play Clavicus then yeah I'd be all for it. It would work too because Iago was merely a pawn for Jafar in the Aladdin movies.

You seriously want the AFLAC duck in skyrim? :ermm: I could barely tolerate those commercials when I saw them...which was rarely since I don't watch tv much anymore. Barbas' voice actor was just fine.

Let's get super duper serious. It just reminded me of Gilbert. I'm fine with the actor as well. It's funny how most people just think Gilbert is some hacky comedian. He's quite brilliant, a comedian's comedian.

I agree. Big ol' Gil would have been perfect! The current voice actor was good though. I think he was from Brooklyn (NY). Fahgedaboutit...

So you're one of those people that gets upset and screams for a lawsuit every time a comedian makes a gay joke or a joke about race? Yikes.

This is what he said :Gilbert Gottfried on the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims: "I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say, 'They'll be another one floating by any minute now.

He tweeted this and I think it is completely tasteless. so yeah I guess go ahead and put me in the gay joke and race joke lawsuit people category.

Considering how touchy both of those subjects are I imagine most people are in this lawsuit club you mentioned. If he was doing it in good humor (which it doesn't sound like) in order to try and take the edge off of a horrific accident, then by all means I believe it's appropriate as some people handle problems through laughter. If it was to make a joke about an accident that wasn't in hood humor, but was merely to make an easy joke then yes he should have lost his job.

The root of the problem is really twitter as that crap is terrible for people who have no ability to filter themselves. You see it with athletes, and celebrities all the time they end up saying stupid crap on twitter that gets them in trouble.

There is no excuse for such a tasteless remark.

I actually agree with the OP. Gilbert G. would have been a great voice for Barbas!

For some reason, I just don't like the in game voice. I think the accent just seems way out of place for some reason.

Barbas' voice is fine, but I was thinking Gilbert Gottfried would've been great too.

I'm ok with his Tsunami jokes, I lol'd and I'm Asian. He just shouldn't have let people know it was him making the jokes, since a lot of the internet was doing the same thing.

No, no, a thousand times no. I can tolerate Barbas' voice now, but if it was voiced by GG I'd have to have the game on mute for the entire quest. His voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

Gilbert Godfried has an incredibly annoying voice. I would turn off the TV anytime an Aflac commercial came on when he was doing the voice. Not just his voice but the fact that they were incredibly stupid in the first place.

Now Kevin Michael Richardson, that guy has a great voice. Though I think he would have been better suited as one the Daedric Princes.

Unfortunately for G.G., Aflac cares about the image their spokesman potrays... even if it's just the voice of an annoying duck.

He shouldn't get in legal trouble over it.... we do have bloody freedom of speech and it's the internet FFS.... however it was pretty stupid to think he doesn't need to be more mindful of his public image when your public image is your major asset. Being annoying is acceptable just annoying to ppl who don't like it.... but attach a negative connotation to it? And yah, people subconsciously associate spokesman, actions and brand.

Anyone in the entertainment industry knows that...

Doesn't ruin his career as a comedian which is probably all he really thought of or would have considered if he did think, but yah, not surprising.

Personally I find him annoying as all hell, but I would have fell over laughing if his voice came out through that bloody dog (and a bloody dog it would have been :D ) I would also have completed that quest as fast as I possibly could lol

I think the New York accent the "doh-awg" already has is ridiculous enough.

It was a ridiculous accent and somewhat unimmersive.

That said, it does remind me of the Classic Planescape torment which had a floating head skull Follower with almost the same accent and even attitude.

I wonder if the Devs took it from that game?

Oh my god yes, I love Gilbert Gottfried!

But the original actor did do a good job and I can imagine that Gottfried charges a ton for his distinct voice.

The actor isn't from New York, it's the same guy who voices Mercer Frey and Cyric Endell. He's the VA of the Mr. Gutsy/Handy robots and Harold in FO3 too, he's just pretty good at having a variety of voices - in the Thief series he voiced a significant proportion of the cast.
