Glacier Caves

Post » Sat Nov 27, 2010 3:29 pm

If it's not too late, I hope Bethesda will add a dungeon or two that looks like http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/inside-glacier-caves-17-photos from inside a glacial cave. The new engine definitely seems capable of handling the lighting required.

I definitely think they'll be incorporating ice caves into the more glacial regions of Skryim if they're really making the dungeons as diverse as they claim.

Good call. Perfect place to fight a frost giant.

I think the presence of ice caves was confirmed, and considering that the dungeons in Skyrim are being hand-built (and are apparently unique), a pretty glacier cave doesn't seem unlikely.

They look cool. It reminds me of the start of the the X-Files movie. If they truly are making the dungeons unique, I'm sure they'll look great.

ain't that a beaut? Now imagine a dragon inside there, and you get to fight him when there's no room for the dragon to fly or for you to maneuver. He breathes the fire and melts some glacier, and the fog fills up your screen...

We do know that glaciers will be in the game. However, it hasn't been said, yet, whether they are traversable. But, I find it hard to believe that someone at Bethesda didn't already have this idea. Bu then again, maybe none of them have ever been within touching distance of a glacial terminus.

Wow... I'm glad everyone liked the photos.

Hint, hint, Skyrim devs - have you ever before seen a thread with unanimous agreement like this?

One haphazard on most mountains is crevasses, would be nice if there were a few that you could fall into, and you'd wind up inside a glacial cave like this.

Wouldn't be too hard to make, though I doubt you could have that level of lighting, though.
