Glitch or easy way to level?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 6:56 pm

Right outside the enterance to Windhelm stables there is a guy named Torsten Cruel-sea.
He caught me tring to pick pocket him and so a fight started. But this guy wont die, when his
health depleats he juist rests for a few seconds and then comes at me again with full health.
So i toyed with him for an hour, leveling up in the proceess. Do you suppose this is a glitch
or are there more of these characters all over Skyrim?

As its not in the spirit of the game i have left the area now, i dont see the point in cheating
by leveling up this way, but i was so inclined i could in theory level up alot faster liek this.

He's essential, so you can level up combat skills on him. I believe you could do this in Oblivion as well, albeit a much slower rate.

I think characters who are connected to the main quest can't die.
Easy leveling is not much of a cheat though because of level scaling. Higher level means tougher bad guys. So this "powerleveling" can actually make your game harder as you level up without improving your equipment.

I think you are wasting your time though. Instead of leveling through one person in one spot, you could actually be playing the game doing dungeons, and leveling up along the way.

There are lots of people like this.

As you say tho, not really in the spirit of the game.

this game is what you make of it. If you want to gain power by wailing on an immortal but otherwise powerless bystander then so be it. What legends you have written to get there :P

A bounty hunter attacked me near a large rock, I ran around him casting bound dagger to get my conjuration to 100 on my mage. I do not regret that, but I won't do it again...I think.
