Guards still say I have to go to jail and don't allow me to bribe or pay a fine. I can no longer enter the city except at night because the guards continuously stalk me. I've become rather good at sneaking through parts of the city now tho. Anyways after Freeing Madanach they still seem to think I need to serve a life sentence as and when I say I will go to jail the dialogue ends and they begin attacking me. Probably because I've already broken out with all the prisoners per the No One Escapes Cidhna Mine quest.

This is also happening to me, as well as some others I've seen posting around the web... Tried writing "payfine" in the console (as it was the command used in oblivion to automatically pay your bounty) but it's not working and this is so annoying.

Im having this same problem. The console commands should be:

paycrimegold (to pay out of your pocket)
player.setcrimegold 0 (to erase the bounty)

but nothing is working for me! This bug is game breaking because I have several main story lines that I cant get to because I need to access the damn Markarth keep. If anyone has any advice on how to get these console commands to start working Id be forever grateful, otherwise Im just going to quit this game so I dont waste more time on something I cant ever beat.
