Glitches! What Glitches?

Post » Sat Jan 22, 2011 2:06 am

I've played this game about 18 hours, I haven't encountered many glitches at all. All I've seen so far is a couple of typo's when having a conversation with someone and a Radscorpion partly submerged into the ground. Maybe PC users have it lucky.. who knows.

I play on 360 and only have had 1 freeze, a few frame rate drops and some enemies partially underground. :fallout:

Don't be ignorant of other people's issues. There are obviously problems otherwise Bethesda wouldn't have announced a patch fixing numerous problems. Good to hear your playthrough has had few bugs, hope mine will be the same.

Most of the major issues are from trying to complete quests in a very specific way. Simple scripting bugs. However, most of them don't compare to the bugs present in the original version of FO2.

There's issues and lots of them, just because you don't get them doesn't mean no one else should be.

I am playing on a PC, and I have encountered numerous bugs/glitches. I don't feel very lucky. Lost saves, scripting errors; being shot at by the NCR after changing to other armor from Legion armor.
Nightstalker, Brahmins, and coyotes running on their faces, radscorpions below the ground while attacking, missing skill magazines, which could be a late change in the game. I am going by the strategy guide to find some magazines and they haven't been in some places.
Last night I was in the Dino Gift Shop and I experienced the "white screen of death:. I believe this is a graphics issue, I need to research this. More than a dozen crashes to desktop.
I save frequently.

I've had one freeze (on 360). Not so bad really.

the main glitch I've seen, which has been quite amusing at times. Is when wielding the varmint rifle (Only, so far), the rifle has been out of sight, or even above my head when hiding behind rocks or the like. Looks very odd, but no problems with shooting.

I've played for over 50 hrs on the PS3. I've crashed maybe 2 times, and both times was when my console was on for too long. I've seen the red square glitch when I tried to put a silencer on my wheathered 10mm. That's about it for glitches. After updating to the newest patch, I haven't seen anything unusual and the game's been running smooth.

You must be new to PC gaming.

In PC gaming, because we all have unique hardware/software combinations, games can actually have significantly different results; meaning you can experience anywhere from no glitches, to being the most glitch-ridden game you've ever seen.

This is why there are system requirements (but it's of little use, because the hardware the supports the game works in a non-standardized proprietary format, which can lead to bugs)

For an XB360 game, what's the system requirement? That you merely have the XB360. Because it is set hardware; the game can be expected from a hardware point to run similar to other units. This isn't the case on PC.

So unless you were gloating that you didn't get any glitches, that should better inform you why you are experiencing glitch-free play. Personally, I crash religiously every 30-90 minutes. And it has nothing to do with not meeting and exceeding system requirements.
