Why the hell would you use them over a snap trap when a snap trap actually kills the animal quickly and cleanly?
What do you actually do once you've caught a live animal on it?
These were used at work yesterday. I saw a mouse on it that pulled so hard its limbs were disjointed and its guts were hanging out of the tear of its belly. It must have struggled very hard overnight for that to happen, it was in a lot of pain and in the process of chewing one of its limbs off so I put the animal out of its misery. I have read on here that some people use these things, and simply throw the animal into the rubbish for it to starve to death and further mutilate itself. It's a prolonged and painful death, torture, really. I don't understand why someone would do that... that kinda crosses the line don't you think? That's when it stops becoming pest control and turns into animal cruelty.
IMO if I had my way, I'd outlaw these disgusting things. I do not think they are a viable alternative to some of the other traps that are either designed to kill the animal outright, or keep it alive for release. I believe in culling pests and killing when need be, but I don't believe in animal torture/cruelty. I notified my manager and he had them all removed. I think the entire concept of supergluing a little mammal onto a sheet of plastic for it to tear itself apart in fear for hours and starve to death is evil. Does anyone else feel this way?
